This time we present our image of St. Mary Magdalene. When creating it, we were based on the work of Carl Dolci.

Mary Magdalene was presented with a vessel with oils and spices in it. It is mentioned only in the Gospel passages, during which she takes them together with other women to Christ's tomb. In the Gospel according to St. John, she is the first person to whom Christ appears. Seeing her crying over an empty tomb, he utters the famous phrase "Don't hold me back". 🌿

In Catholicism, Mary Magdalene is also identified with two other women: the harlot whom Christ saved from stoning and Mary who washed Christ's feet. However, it is now recognized that each of these Marys was a different person. 🧐
